This list is for the most worthwhile Anime to watch in 2012. The only requirement is that the Anime must either be still ongoing in the year 2012 or has just ended in the year. Thus, older Anime should not be included.

This psychological thriller is about Yuki, a loner who's not very good with people. The contestants are given special diaries that can predict the future, each diary possessing unique features that give it both advantages and disadvantages. Has some great psychotic characters in this as well as some disturbing romance and some pretty good action too, Yukki finds out that he can't trust anyone

The story revolves around Mahiro Fuwa, a teenager whose family was mysteriously murdered one year before and his friend Yoshino Takigawa. Mahiro is contacted by Hakase Kusaribe, the leader of the Kusaribe clan who was left stranded on an unknown desert island by her followers, and agrees to help Hakase in exchange of her help to find out the culprit for the death of his family. Upon learning of his friend's intentions, Yoshino joins him on his quest to stand against the Kusaribe clan who intends to awake the "Tree of Zetsuen" whose power can bring ruin to the entire world. Several dialogues and plot elements in Zetsuen no Tempest pay homage to the works of William Shakespeare.
The school romantic comedy revolves around a second-year high school student named Sorata Kanda who lives in Sakurasou, the dormitory for problem children at Sorata's school. One day, Mashiro Shiina - a cute girl who happens to be also a cosmopolitan, brilliant artist - moves into Sakurasou. Sorata thinks to himself that he should protect Mashiro from the weirdos at Sakurasou, but Mashiro has a surprising secret: she has no idea how to take care of herself. She gets lost if she goes out, and her room is a complete mess. Sorata's dorm mates designate him as the "master" of Mashiro, and thus, an ordinary boy and a brilliant girl must live like "a master and his pet."

Oreki Houtarou is a minimalistic high school boy. One day, he joins the Classic Literature Club at his elder sister's request. There he meets Chitanda Eru, Fukube Satoshi, and Ibara Mayaka. Chitanda is a calm beautiful girl but she turns into an embodiment of curiosity once she says, "I'm interested in it (Watashi, Kininarimasu)". Fukube is a smiling boy with a fantastic memory who calls himself a database. Ibara is a short girl and is strict with others and herself. She loves Fukube, but he always dodges her approaches. They begin to investigate a case that occurred 45 years ago. Hints of the mystery are buried in an old collection of works of the former members of Classics Club. The collection is titled "Hyouka."
Really cool anime involving a lot of futuristic tech revolving around a world where people's emotions are monitored and if it becomes unstable they are labelled "latent criminals" and taken down by the Public Safety Bureau. The specialised guns they use are badass, definitely worth watching.

Really nice animation and lots of action involving unique weapons and mecha, the main character Shu becomes a stronger person throughout the anime.

The new Hunter × Hunter anime adaptation was announced in July 2011. It is a complete reboot of the series starting from the beginning of the manga. It's directed by Hiroshi Kōjina, produced by Madhouse, and features scripts by Jun Maekawa and character designs by Takahiro Yoshimatsu. Instead of having the old cast reprise their roles for the new adaptation, the series features an entirely new cast to voice the characters.

Very funny gags involving Ayumu (the zombie), Haruna (the magical girl), Sera, Maelstrom and Sarasvati (the vampire ninjas) and Eu (the necromancer). The story takes place when Ayumu has to transform and reveal his magic powers (along with the accompanying pink frilly outfit) in front of the school and becomes some sort of idol.

He looks to restrenghten the brotherly bond with sasuke and become hokage, showing the ninja world what he is made of.

Takagi, with his gift of writing, hopes to become a successful mangaka, and Mashiro, with his gift of art, hopes to marry the girl of his dreams, Azuki Miho.
Little Busters!' story revolves around the main protagonist Riki Naoe, a young male high school student. When Riki was a child, his parents died, leaving him hopeless and depressed. He was saved by a group—three boys and a girl, all his age—who referred to themselves as the Little Busters, a group dedicated to fighting evil and preserving justice. The leader of the group was Kyousuke Natsume who had a younger sister named Rin. The other two members were Masato Inohara and Kengo Miyazawa, who were friends despite being rivals. They took Riki out and played together with him during his time of need, making him the fifth Little Busters member. In time, Riki enjoyed playing with them, and his grief over his parents gradually faded away. When the story begins, Riki and his friends are seemingly in their second year of high school, except for Kyousuke who is in his third year. Kyousuke then makes Little Busters a baseball team.
Togashi Yuuta, a boy who used to suffer from chuunibyou, and Takanashi Rikka, who still has the syndrome, made a true contract with each other (that is, they are dating). In order to help them achieve victory they summon a heroic spirit as their familiar which are powerful warriors chosen throughout history each with a different class (Archer, Berserker, Rider, Assassin, Caster, Lancer and Saber)
Though the first episode may seem slow it's necessary for the introduction of the wars and the families involved for anyone who doesn't know the Fate series. It has many great characters and action scenes

For 30 years, mankind is bogged down in an endless war against BETA without any hopes of victory. In 2001, the Imperial Japan faces difficulties in the development of a next-generation main Tactical Surface Fighters (TSF) as it defends the front lines of the Far East. The UN has proposed a joint development program between the Imperial Japan and the United States as a part of its international mutual development project of TSF, the Prominence Project. Yui Takamura, a surface pilot of the Imperial Royal Guards of Japan, is given responsibility for the project and sets off to Alaska. Meanwhile, Yuya Bridges, also a surface pilot of the US Army, was heading to the same destination. Yet they never knew that their encounter would change their destiny drastically. This story with exciting human dramas and robot actions takes place in the development of a new Tactical Surface Fighters, the most important and effective weapons against BETA, at a crisis of human extinction.
Really nicely animated mecha series, it's pretty light-hearted (though it's quickly turning more serious). The characters in it have tons of personality, the main character Madoka especially makes it worth watching, she takes the combat comically unserious at points. It's going to be split into two 12 episode series both airing this year.
Madoka Kyouno is an energetic girl who is full of passion. Her life is turned upside down when she is suddenly asked by a mysterious girl named Lan to pilot a robot. Motivated by her desire to protect the people and city of Kamogawa, Madoka agrees to pilot the resurrected Vox robot to fight against extraterrestrials that have come to attack Earth.
